It starts before the order

Three questions we ask alongside the part number, so the switch trips when it should and not when it should not.

Question one

Where does it run?

Conveyor length, atmospheric or marine conditions, temperature swing, vibration, dust and washdown. Aluminium or nylon housing.

Question two

What is it doing?

Pull trip or balanced pull and slack. The rope run, the pull key spacing, the safety circuit it wires into, and whether you want siren and LED indication.

Question three

What if it is wrong?

Nuisance trips, a switch that does not trip when pulled, an AS/NZS 4024 finding at audit, a conveyor down now.

Smart Pull

Smart Pull conveyor pull wire switch

Engineered as part of the Smart Series conveyor safety range, Smart Pull devices provide reliable, compliant, and highly durable pull wire emergency stop solutions for demanding industrial environments.

Developed from decades of hands-on experience in mining and materials handling, the Smart Pull range delivers precise tripping performance, intuitive installation, and long-term resilience in both atmospheric and marine conditions.

Whether used for balanced pull-and-slack systems or directional pull trip applications, Smart Pull ensures your conveyor shutdown system meets the strict requirements of AS/NZS 4024 while maintaining the rugged reliability expected in Australian industry.

Smart Pull conveyor pull wire switch

Engineered for reliable safety

Conveyor safety systems must operate reliably under all conditions, including power loss, cable damage, and device failure. Smart Series is designed around fail-safe principles to ensure that any detected fault, communication loss, or device activation triggers a safe and controlled response.

Key fail-safe features

Normally closed safety circuits for emergency stop devices

Continuous line monitoring to detect open circuits or cable faults

Positive shutdown confirmation

Clear diagnostic feedback to maintenance teams

When integrated into a correctly designed safety circuit, Smart Series helps reduce downtime and risk while supporting compliance with mining safety requirements.

Which trip type?

Balanced pull and slack for long spring-tensioned runs, or independent dual-shaft pull trip that fires on pull from either direction.

Smart Pull pull and slack trip type

Pull & slack trip type

Balanced, spring-tensioned protection for up to 200 metres.

The Smart Pull pull and slack trip series provides a fully balanced emergency stop system using single-trip shafts with tensioning springs on both ends of the wire rope. This ensures consistent, reliable tripping even in high-vibration or temperature-affected environments.

Available in marine-grade LM6 aluminium (BK400PS) or UV-resistant glass reinforced nylon (BK500PS), both housings offer exceptional corrosion resistance for long-term operation in atmospheric or marine conditions.

Key features
Temperature and vibration compensation for stable performance
IP66/67 heavy-duty environmental protection
SIL2 certified (IEC 61508), suitable for safety-related applications
Spacious internal compartment (225 × 170 × 50 mm) for simplified termination and optional electronics, no external junction box required
Encapsulated IP67 switches to prevent dust, moisture and rust ingress
Visual compliance indicator confirming correct tensioning to AS/NZS 4024.3610
Balanced lens indicator for fast visual alignment checks

Complies with AS/NZS 4024.3610:2015 and BS EN ISO 13850:2008

Smart Pull pull trip type

Pull trip type

Independent dual-shaft protection for conveyor shutdown on pull or break.

The Smart Pull pull trip series features dual, fully independent trip shafts designed to activate when the cable is pulled from either direction. Built for straightforward installation between pull keys, this system provides a robust, easy-maintained conveyor shutdown method.

As with the PS series, the BK400P (aluminium) and BK500P (nylon) offer long-lasting, corrosion-resistant construction tailored for heavy-duty and mining environments.

Key features
Trips instantly when the cable is pulled left, right, or removed
IP66/67 environmental protection
SIL2 capable, third-party certified
Large internal compartment for clean wiring and optional electronics
Reflective mechanical flag for high-visibility trip indication
Optional pre-start siren and LED indication
Corrosion-resistant internal components including stainless steel, copper, nylon and brass

Complies with AS/NZS 4024.3610:2015 and BS EN ISO 13850:2008
