2021 in Review

As December rolls around again, it's not uncommon to feel like the year went in a blur.

What causes this feeling? Neural signal processing? Is COVID to blame again?

Despite some brief existential contemplation about where the time went, we did achieve a great deal together over the last twelve months. Let's take a look.

We made something new. We launched our new eCommerce website.

This was a significant project for us, and we're very happy with the result. If you've not checked out our online store yet, time to open an account!

We lit up the sky! We launched Luminetic, our new industrial lighting brand.

It's been fantastic having our own product to confidently offer our customers. We worked closely with our suppliers to come up with fittings that are built for tough Australian conditions, with high IP and IK ratings.

We upgraded. With major logistics improvements.

With ever-increasing global disruptions to shipping, we decided early in the year to hold more stock to support our customers locally. In our WA and QLD warehouses, we've tripled our storage capacity, with new layouts and expanded pallet racking across both locations.

We expanded. We moved into new premises in Arndell Park, NSW.

Located to the West of Sydney, the new office location will showcase our products and solutions to the local market. With a new base of operations, the team in New South Wales is picking up steam.

We dressed to impress. With new signage up at every location.

Across Western Australia, Queensland and New South Wales, we're now nice and consistent. Big, bold and beautiful signage has gone up on the exteriors of our three office locations. It's looking pretty good, if we do say so ourselves!

We grew as a team. With nine new team members.

This year, we've had new starters across every state and in all departments. With fresh new faces in sales, administration, business development, marketing, and warehouse operations, we're filled to the brim with new ideas, fresh eyes and renewed enthusiasm!

We celebrated as a team. Retirement is a big milestone!

This September, we said farewell to much-loved George McChord. George had been with us since 2015 as a Business Development Manager, and he made a big impact. George's farewell was attended by staff and customers alike, and we swapped stories, celebrated his achievements, and thanked him for his contribution.

We ran. Covering 92km in the Bunbury Running Festival!

We've got a couple of serious runners here at Pacific Automation, getting out every weekend and hitting the trails. And some of us take it a little less seriously than that! But together we all teamed up for the annual Bunbury Running Festival, managing 92 kilometres. A mammoth effort and we're proud of our team who pitched in.

We helped out. We sent clothing to Cambodian children in need.

With many of our staff having young families, our team pulled together a donation of surplus kids clothing. It shipped off to a small village in Cambodia and was received to smiling faces. We couldn't have asked for anything more.

We gave back. We supported impoverished women in Bangladesh.

We've worked with Empoweraid in the past, loaning out our warehouse and logistics capabilities. An Australian-based organisation providing pathways to employment for vulnerable women, we're proud to support their work. This year, we  transported equipment to restock and support their efforts in Bangladesh and Timor Leste.

We spent time with you. We travelled across the country to lend a hand.

A few highlights: Johan, our Field Service Engineer, twice spent time in Gladstone, QLD, servicing purge & pressurisation equipment (and twice did his penance in a two-week quarantine on his return to WA). Richard, our Product Manager for Mining, hit the red dirt in Kalgoorlie, inspecting and commissioning pump controllers for underground dewatering.

That about wraps 2021 up. On to 2022!

From all of us here at Pacific Automation, thanks for another fantastic year, and we wish you all the very best for 2022. We look forward to working with you and helping you for many years to come
