The UR20-2CNT-100 (order no. 1315590000) is a u-remote digital counter and communication module with two independent counter inputs, PUSH IN connection, and IP20 protection. It accepts an input frequency of up to 100 kHz with 32-bit counter resolution, supports pulse, direction, and 1-, 2- or 4-times counting modes, and provides individual channel diagnosis on each of its two channels. Sensor supply is available on each channel (0-750 mA), and the module includes reverse polarity protection. It measures 76 x 120 x 11.5 mm, weighs 85 g, and operates from -20°C to 60°C.

Incremental and absolute value encoders are indispensable in today's automated systems, and Weidmüller developed its u-remote counter modules specifically for these applications, offering counter inputs up to 500 kHz and a synchronous-serial interface (SSI) variant for high-precision positioning with absolute value encoders. Alongside the dual-channel UR20-2CNT-100, the same family includes a single-counter variant with latch, gate and reset inputs for external counter control, and dedicated communication modules for RS232, RS485, RS422 and SAI-PRO connections. The module electronics supply the connected sensors with power from the input current path. It is RoHS conformant and holds cULus (E141197) and cULusEX (E223527) certification, and supports PROFINET IRT/RT, PROFIBUS DP-V1, EtherCAT, Modbus/TCP, EtherNet/IP, CANopen, DeviceNet, POWERLINK, CC-Link, CC-Link IE TSN and IEC 61162-450 fieldbus protocols.
