Staff Spotlight: Paul Overton, Technical Sales and Product Specialist

Today we get to know Pacific Automation’s Technical Sales and Product Specialist, Paul Overton, who has been with the company since 2010.

Paul has diverse product and sales experience in retail and industrial sectors, from which he has gained extensive product knowledge, and developed excellent customer-focused service and communication skills. He has also had hands-on experience in warehouse and mine site settings, so has a solid understanding of product applications.

Paul manages a technical product portfolio primarily for the oil and gas industry, including electrical equipment such as junction boxes, lighting and immersion heaters. He undertakes in-depth product training, coupled with independent research to identify technological and cost-saving benefits of our products for our customers.

Paul project manages large projects for our major customers, and ensures our products conform to IECEx and site standards. He compiles Manufacturer’s Data Reports (MDRs) and other project-specific documentation, and regularly provides feedback and design inputs to manufacturers to ensure products are suited to Australian conditions and market needs.

To ensure our customers receive the right product and the right advice, Paul liaises with customers, engineers and electricians to understand their product and application needs and advises on current best practice and product advantages. He also liaises with Pacific Automation’s leading global suppliers to provide our clients with exemplary, full-circle service from product selection and technical advice right through to delivery.
