Traditional monitoring systems are often insufficient due to the vast distances, extreme weather conditions, and the need for real-time, reliable data to prevent disruptions and ensure driver safety.

Solution:

Pacific Automation, in collaboration with EZAutomation, provided a state-of-the-art solution integrating EZAutomation's robust HMI/PLC units and EZMarquee Sunlight readable LED displays. For a specific application, a client required remote monitoring of road closure , which was seamlessly achieved using EZAutomation's PLC with built-in inputs, displayed on the LED displays.

Implementation:

A tailor-made control system was installed comprising EZAutomation's Integrated HMI PLC Combo units, ranging from 4" to 15", delivering a cost-effective, all-in-one solution.

These units enabled its remote operation for mitigating flooding risks. The EZTouch HMI panels offered a control dashboard for operators, ensuring intuitive interaction and control. Furthermore, the EZMarquee LED displays were utilised for displaying messages in daylight.

For the outdoor application, the durable 7" HMI/PLC and EZMarquee displays were strategically placed to withstand the harsh outback environment. These devices provided vital real-time data on road conditions, which are crucial for traveller safety and logistical planning in a flood-prone area.

Outcome:

The integrated HMI/PLC solution delivered by Pacific Automation and EZAutomation resulted in a robust, remote monitoring system capable of operating reliably in the challenging conditions of the NSW outback. The system provided critical information efficiently, ensuring road safety and continuous monitoring during adverse weather conditions.
