BES M18ME1-GNX80B-S04G-EEX (Order Code BES02ZW) is an M18 intrinsically safe inductive sensor with a NAMUR interface, measuring Ø18 x 46 mm (mounting length 30 mm), rated for flush mounting and connected via an M12 connector (4-pin, A-coded). It operates on an operating voltage Ub of 7.7...9 VDC (rated operating voltage Ue DC 8.2 V, rated series resistance Rv 1000 Ohm) at a switching frequency of 400 Hz, with a sensing distance of 8 mm (assured operating distance 6.4 mm, ±10% tolerance).
The sensor carries ATEX, IECEx, FM, cCSAus and CCC Ex approval (plus CE, WEEE and UKCA), with an Ex marking of Ex II 1G Ex ia IIC T6 Ga / Ex II 1D Ex ia IIIC T90°C Da (Ta -20...70°C), IECEx Ex ia IIC T6 Ga / Ex ia IIIC T90°C Da, and NEC ratings covering CSA/FM Class I Division 1 Groups ABCD, Class II Division 1 Groups EFG and Class III. It is rated IP67 for an ambient temperature range of -20...70°C, is built to EN/IEC 60079-0/-11/-26, IEC 60529 and IEC 60947-5-6, and the stated MTTF at 40°C is 3387 years. The housing is brass with a nickel-free coating and the sensing surface is PBT. It must be used only in approved intrinsically safe circuits with maximum values Ui = 15 V, Ii = 50 mA, Pi = 120 mW, and operated only with a suitable approved switching amplifier.
