Thursday, 3 May 2018

Pacific Automation’s Neeraj Chowdhary, Business Development Manager, and Farid Karami, Customer Support, recently visited Balluff’s Melbourne office for training on their Industry 4.0 framework, process and related products.
Industry 4.0 (“the fourth industrial revolution”) refers to the current trend of automation and data exchange in manufacturing technologies, and includes machine-to-machine and human-to-machine communication, artificial intelligence, continued technological improvements and digitalisation in manufacturing.

It is driven by:
  • Increasing data volumes, computational power and connectivity
  • Analytics and business-intelligence capabilities
  • New forms of human-machine interaction, such as touch-based interfaces and augmented-reality systems
  • Improvements in transferring digital instructions to the physical world, such as robotics and 3D printing.

The training provided an overview of Balluff’s Industry 4.0 framework, process and related products, and equipped our staff with the hands-on knowledge they need to provide optimal technical support and advice to our customers.

Balluff’s Industry 4.0 framework includes:
  • Predictive Maintenance
  • Parameterisation
  • Recipe Change Management
  • Quality Assurance
  • Condition Monitoring
  • Format Change Management
